The objective of Education and Early Childhood Development for CFS Head Start is to provide all children with a safe, nurturing, engaging, enjoyable, and secure learning environment, in order to help them gain the awareness, skills, and confidence necessary to succeed in their present environment, and to deal with later responsibilities in school and in life.

Who is Eligible?

Children who are 3 to 5 years old are eligible for Head Start services. Pregnant women and children from birth to 3 years of age are eligible for Early Head Start services. Children and families who are homeless, in foster care, or receive TANF or SSI are also eligible for services. Eligibility is determined by Head Start program staff and some families may be eligible for services if they are determined to be at or below the federal poverty level. Some grantees enroll a percentage of children from families with incomes above the Poverty Guidelines as well.

How to Apply
Recruiting for children and families for the 2010/2011 school year has begun. If you have a child between the ages of 3 and 5 years of age that would benifit from a pre-school experience please contact the center to make an appointment to meet with our Family Support Specialist to complete an application. A family must fall into the following income guidelines.
