Northwest Montana Head Start Board of Directors, staff, and parents utilize available community resources to provide quality services that empower families and advocate for children.Northwest Montana Head Start program focus is on strengthening the social, nutritional, emotional, physical, and educational well-being of the whole family.
Who is Eligible?
Children who are 3 to 5 years old are eligible for Head Start services. Pregnant women and
children from birth to 3 years of age are eligible for Early Head Start services. Children and
families who are homeless, in foster care, or receive TANF or SSI are also eligible for
services. Eligibility is determined by Head Start program staff and some families may be
eligible for services if they are determined to be at or below the federal poverty level. Some
grantees enroll a percentage of children from families with incomes above the Poverty Guidelines
as well.
Families are encouraged to apply.
How to Apply
Eligibility
Child must be 3 years old by September 10th
Child must NOT turn 5 before September 10th
Students with a diagnosed disability are eligible on their 3rd birthday

Your completed application packet must include:
Completed Child Enrollment Application
Income Verification--For each adult in the household that has a legal relationship to the child or to the child's primary care giver.
Immunization Records--Please contact us if you need any assistance in obtaining documentation.
