Early Education for 3 and 4 year olds: Curriculum aligned with Ohio Early Learning Content Standards. Full day and part day options are available. Child care services available for families of all income levels. Part-day preschool provided through the national Head Start program. Special services are provided for children with IEPs from the child’s local school district. Special emphasis on language and early literacy skills. Bus transportation provided for most areas.
Who is Eligible?
Children who are 3 to 5 years old are eligible for Head Start services. Pregnant women and
children from birth to 3 years of age are eligible for Early Head Start services. Children and
families who are homeless, in foster care, or receive TANF or SSI are also eligible for
services. Eligibility is determined by Head Start program staff and some families may be
eligible for services if they are determined to be at or below the federal poverty level. Some
grantees enroll a percentage of children from families with incomes above the Poverty Guidelines
as well.
Families are encouraged to apply.
How to Apply
Enrollment Guidelines for 3 and 4 year olds:
Children who are still being toilet trained are accepted.
Children with disabilities are welcomed.
Families may apply for child care assistance, or pay the full cost for child care.
Families must meet income guidelines for part day Head Start classes.
