In 1978, E Center was awarded federal funds to operate a Migrant and Seasonal Head Start Program. E Center Migrant & Seasonal Head Start Preschool Centers and Family Child Care Homes provide quality childcare free of cost to low income families that work in agriculture related work such as; working in produce fields, produce canning, and packing plants. Care is provided for children four weeks to five years of age. The Preschool Centers and Family Child Care Homes are open 10-12 hours a day, 5 days a week, during harvest time (from late Spring through mid to late fall depending on the crop season) Our Teachers are highly qualified and receive continuous training in best practices for the child development field. Our facilities are comfortable, pleasant, and safe providing an enriched environment so your child can enjoy a healthy, nurturing, learning environment while you are at work.

Children who are 3 to 5 years old are eligible for Head Start services. Pregnant women and children from birth to 3 years of age are eligible for Early Head Start services. Children and families who are homeless, in foster care, or receive TANF or SSI are also eligible for services. Eligibility is determined by Head Start program staff and some families may be eligible for services if they are determined to be at or below the federal poverty level. Some grantees enroll a percentage of children from families with incomes above the Poverty Guidelines as well.
