Our Head Start program is funded to serve 520 children ages 3 or 4 years old. It operates 27 part-day center-based classrooms; 5 days per week; 10 months per year at 14 centers throughout the county. Here is a general map of our locations.

Who is Eligible?

Children who are 3 to 5 years old are eligible for Head Start services. Pregnant women and children from birth to 3 years of age are eligible for Early Head Start services. Children and families who are homeless, in foster care, or receive TANF or SSI are also eligible for services. Eligibility is determined by Head Start program staff and some families may be eligible for services if they are determined to be at or below the federal poverty level. Some grantees enroll a percentage of children from families with incomes above the Poverty Guidelines as well.

How to Apply
Application Getting your child into Head Start / Early Head Start is a process that starts with an application. Applications are accepted all year long, however, applications received between April 1st and June 15th are screened for first selection. All applications are subject to verification of the information provided. All enrollment requirements must be completed before placement can be made. Priority attendance areas exist and are given preference. Please be advised that we typically receive more applications than there are spaces available so, not all applications will result in children being placed in a classroom due to many variable factors.
