At Erie House we believe it is important to invest in our children since they are a promise for a greater tomorrow. Our children & youth programs are segmented into three areas in order to provide developmentally appropriate activities. Our youngest children are served by our Early Childhood Education program, children in elementary school take part in After School, and teenagers are active in our Youth Options Unlimited program.

Children who are 3 to 5 years old are eligible for Head Start services. Pregnant women and children from birth to 3 years of age are eligible for Early Head Start services. Children and families who are homeless, in foster care, or receive TANF or SSI are also eligible for services. Eligibility is determined by Head Start program staff and some families may be eligible for services if they are determined to be at or below the federal poverty level. Some grantees enroll a percentage of children from families with incomes above the Poverty Guidelines as well.

Enroll Your Child in Erie's Family Child Care Homes programErie House is currently recruiting infants and toddlers in need of all-day care. Please contact Erie House’s Family Child Care Homes Intake Assistant Sandra Caban at 312.432.2221 to set up an appointment to discuss eligibility. Applicants must be employed with an income below 50 percent of the state median income, teen parents in high school, or families on Temporary Assistance for Needy Families participating in an Illinois Department of Human Services training program. A limited number of private slots are available.
