Children who are 3 to 5 years old are eligible for Head Start services. Pregnant women and children from birth to 3 years of age are eligible for Early Head Start services. Children and families who are homeless, in foster care, or receive TANF or SSI are also eligible for services. Eligibility is determined by Head Start program staff and some families may be eligible for services if they are determined to be at or below the federal poverty level. Some grantees enroll a percentage of children from families with incomes above the Poverty Guidelines as well.
Families are encouraged to apply.

Howdy! My name is Nathalie Rodriguez, and I am with the Texas A&M Agrilife Passenger Safety KidSafe Initiative. Our team works hard towards making sure children are being transported safely in their car seats across the state of Texas, and they do this by checking and distributing car seats to parents and families at no charge whatsoever. Further, they educate parents on properly installing car seats and knowing when a child needs to be moved to a new or different car seat. They will be hosting an event in Kerrville, TX on December 1 from 4-6 PM at the Hill Country Youth Event Center (3785 TX 27). I was reaching out to see if this information could be passed along to any parents or community members who could potentially benefit from this event. We would love to meet some of the families in the area, and we will also have some Spanish-speaking technicians at the event if translations are needed! |
