Kidco Head Start/Early Head Start is a free infant/toddler and preschool program that serves families from Linn, Benton and Marion Counties. Enrollment is based on age, income and special need. The infant/toddler program serves pregnant mothers and newborns to children turning 24 months old by September 1st. The preschool program serves children who turn three or four years old on or before September 1st. Four year olds are given priority at most centers.
Who is Eligible?

Children who are 3 to 5 years old are eligible for Head Start services. Pregnant women and children from birth to 3 years of age are eligible for Early Head Start services. Children and families who are homeless, in foster care, or receive TANF or SSI are also eligible for services. Eligibility is determined by Head Start program staff and some families may be eligible for services if they are determined to be at or below the federal poverty level. Some grantees enroll a percentage of children from families with incomes above the Poverty Guidelines as well.

How to Apply
Enrollment is based on criteria such as income, disabilities, family needs, employment and education. HEAD START ENROLLMENT - AGE 3-5 Age Children must be four or three years old on or before September 1 depending upon the center. Proof of age is required. Contact the center near you for the ages they serve. Income, Child/Family Needs Your child will qualify if your income is within the Federal Poverty Guidelines. In addition, some children may be accepted from families whose income is over the Federal Poverty Guidelines, if they have special needs. Children with disabilities or from families with special or difficult circumstances are considered even though their income is not within the Poverty Guidelines.
