Details
The Picayune School District Head Start is a federally funded program that serves pregnant women and children age birth to three who are below the federal income poverty guidelines. Early Head Start is a fairly new program to Picayune School District. We began providing services to 40 center-based children, 39 home-based children, and 10 pregnant women on September 1, 2002. The mission of Early Head Start is to promote healthy prenatal outcomes for pregnant women, enhance the development of very young children, and promote healthy family functioning.
