Head Start and Early Head Start are comprehensive child development programs which serve children from birth to age 5, pregnant women, and their families. They are child-focused programs and have the overall goal of increasing the school readiness of young children in low-income families.

Who is Eligible?

Children who are 3 to 5 years old are eligible for Head Start services. Pregnant women and children from birth to 3 years of age are eligible for Early Head Start services. Children and families who are homeless, in foster care, or receive TANF or SSI are also eligible for services. Eligibility is determined by Head Start program staff and some families may be eligible for services if they are determined to be at or below the federal poverty level. Some grantees enroll a percentage of children from families with incomes above the Poverty Guidelines as well.

How to Apply
PREREGISTRATION FORM Thank you for your interest in the Head Start Learning Tree program. Please take a moment to fill out the form below. Following submission of the form, you will be contacted by a Head Start Learning Tree staff member within several days with further instructions about the enrollment process. Please know that enrolling your child or children in the Head Start program is one of the best things that you can do to enable them to succeed and excel in school.
