Ravalli Early Head Start (REHS) provides low-income prenatal mothers and families of children birth to age 3 with enhanced knowledge and skills in child development, health, safety, and nutrition education, as well as providing social service connections and parent involvement opportunities. Ravalli Early Head Start delivers these services to families by fully implementing the federal Head Start performance standards and following best practices in early childhood development.
Who is Eligible?
Children who are 3 to 5 years old are eligible for Head Start services. Pregnant women and
children from birth to 3 years of age are eligible for Early Head Start services. Children and
families who are homeless, in foster care, or receive TANF or SSI are also eligible for
services. Eligibility is determined by Head Start program staff and some families may be
eligible for services if they are determined to be at or below the federal poverty level. Some
grantees enroll a percentage of children from families with incomes above the Poverty Guidelines
as well.

How to Apply
Application Process
Applications for Ravalli Early Head Start are accepted year-round and can be picked up at the Early Head Start Building or mailed upon request. We meet with parents to complete enrollment applications. Applications are take on a walk in basis or by appointment. We ask that you bring copies of required documents (proof of birth, immunization records and proof of your family’s income from the past 12 months).
Applications are scored on an established point system reflecting highest needs for services.
