Berkley Building Blocks infant, toddler and preschool programs are the ground floor of the award-winning Berkley Schools. Who is Eligible?

Children who are 3 to 5 years old are eligible for Head Start services. Pregnant women and children from birth to 3 years of age are eligible for Early Head Start services. Children and families who are homeless, in foster care, or receive TANF or SSI are also eligible for services. Eligibility is determined by Head Start program staff and some families may be eligible for services if they are determined to be at or below the federal poverty level. Some grantees enroll a percentage of children from families with incomes above the Poverty Guidelines as well.

How to Apply
2012-2013 Kindergarten Registration (current year) Berkley School District offers Young 5s and all day free kindergarten as well as a half day option held at Angell Elementary School. Resident registration for the remaining of the 2012-2013 school year takes place at the Administrative Offices ~ Avery Center, 14700 W. Lincoln, Oak Park. Please call Gina Shifman at 248.837.8016 for more information and to schedule an appointment. Required documentation for enrollment: Original birth certificate (with raised seal) Photo ID (driver's license) Proof of residency (property deed and tax statement or lease and statement of landlord, auto insurance policy, 2 different current utility bills) Immunization history Vision test Additional forms will need to be completed in the enrollment packet (student information cards, technology use agreement, etc.)
