Early Head Start is for pregnant women, infants, and toddlers up to age three. We provide children with a caring environment that will start them on the path to a lifetime of learning.• Early Head Start programs are offered at four YWCA centers and four Child Care Partner sites.• All locations are open full day (up to 10 hrs)/12 months a year.

Who is Eligible?

Children who are 3 to 5 years old are eligible for Head Start services. Pregnant women and children from birth to 3 years of age are eligible for Early Head Start services. Children and families who are homeless, in foster care, or receive TANF or SSI are also eligible for services. Eligibility is determined by Head Start program staff and some families may be eligible for services if they are determined to be at or below the federal poverty level. Some grantees enroll a percentage of children from families with incomes above the Poverty Guidelines as well.

If you have questions or need help finding medical care, please contact the nearest Head Start Center. Step 3: Contact your nearest Head Start Center.You will attend the Head Start Center that is closest to your home or work. Go to Find A Center to locate the center nearest you.
