Description:: SCFO is in its second year of providing Early Head Start (EHS) services to children age 0-3 years and pregnant mothers. This funding was received in January 2010 and within 3 months SCFO was up and running providing services to 52 EHS children and families in Lassen and Plumas counties. After a full year of operation, all new EHS programs must have an audit/review by a federal team of people whose job it is to ensure all EHS regulations are met. SCFO had their EHS federal audit/review in March of 2011 and of the over 1700 regulations, only one was found out of compliance. The non-compliance issue was related to children not receiving blood lead screens and hematocrits according to the State of CaliforniaÃ¢â‚¬â„¢s EPSDT schedule. Since March, SCFO has improved its systems anddeveloped collaborations to ensure these items are done according to timelines. A follow-up review will occur in fall 2011 during which SCFO is confident of positive results.
