Description:: This is a family orientated child development program designed to provide education, social services, health, and nutrition services to income eligible families. Services provided to children age 3-5 years old are available to families in Scott, Carver and Dakota Counties. Head Start provides a quality preschool program 4 days a week, 9 months a year which includes activities to promote learning in the areas of literacy, mathematics, science, creative arts, physical health, and social emotional behavior. Through this curriculum children will gain the necessary skills to be prepared for Kindergarten. Head Start also offers comprehensive assistance to parents working towards self sufficiency.
