How To Enroll Your Child In Head StartCall the Head Start Center nearest you and schedule an appointment with one of our Family Service counselors. (See listing at bottom of page for appropriate center.) You will be expected to bring all the documents listed below. If you do not have these documents, please tell your counselor when you call to set up your appointment. Head Start is a program designed to make sure the children of low-income and homeless families are fully prepared when it is time for them to start public school. The program provides pre-school education that meets nationally recognized standards; healthy, nutritious meals and snacks; and a variety of health services, including full services for children with disabilities. Head Start also provides family advocates to work with parents and assist them in finding and using community resources.
