Selection for enrollment will be based on: income, age, geographic location, employment/educational needs, special need of a child and family needs. ATTACH THE FOLLOWING DOCUMENTS TO THIS APPLICATION: Ã¢Æ’Å¾ Verification of age. (State certified birth certificate, baptismal certificate or hospital record). Ã¢Æ’Å¾ Proof of income that shows total family income. (Prior yearÃ¢â‚¬â„¢s tax return 2010, 3 or more pay stubs, written statement from employer, TANF, scholarships, and financial aid). Incomplete application will not be considered for enrollment AGE ELIGIBILITY OF CHILDREN Priority will be given to children who are 4 years of age prior to September 1. Description:: DoÃƒÂ±a Ana County Headstart is administered through New Mexico State University, College of Education, and was initiated in 1984. The headstart program services the population around Las Cruces New Mexico, a community of over 85,000 residents. We are presently funded to serve 258 preschool children (3-5 years) and their families. The center based classes are offered in nine locations in Dona Ana County. Of this enrollment population, at least 10% of the children are identified as having a developmental delay/ disability based on state diagostic criteria.
