How To Apply:
There are three basic requirements for prospective students: The child must be three or four years old by September 1. The child must live within the boundaries of the Plano Independent School District. The family's income must fall within federal poverty level income guidelines.Application Checklist:Copy of the child's birth certificate Copy of the child's immunization recordCopy of the income tax return or check stubs or proof of TANF assistance Copy of the lease contract or mortgage agreement in the parent name(s)If applicable: Copies of the social security card(s) of child and parent(s), proof of Medicaid, CCMS, Food Stamps, WIC For more information, call 469/752-7168, Head StartAPPLICATION/REGISTRATION/ENROLLMENTApril Application for the coming year are available in the Head Start Office Monday - Friday during regular school hoursJune and July Head Start staff notifies families who qualify for registration and screening. Head Start is a federally funded child development program designed to provide comprehensive services to preschool children from low-income families.Located at 1600 Rigsbee Drive, Plano ISD Head Start houses eight (8) developmentally appropriate Head Start classrooms. The program is governed by the Plano Independent School District and the Head Start Policy Council. The federal government provides funding. The District provides cash and in-kind services, including the facility maintenance and utilities. Federal law mandates that 20% of total funding must be received through in-kind donations from the school district and community.
