How To Apply:
A child is eligible for Head Start if the child is three years old prior to September 1 of the current enrollment year and not age eligible for public school kindergarten. Children under the age of three and pregnant women are eligible for Early Head Start. The Head Start program may accept children on their third birthday throughout the program year. Head Start/Early Head Start is a federally funded program that is required to fill at least 65% of its enrollment slots with families whose income is at or below 100% of the federal poverty guidelines while 35% can be at 130% or below the federal poverty guidelines. Head Start/Early Head Start may serve families over the poverty guidelines for up to 10% of its funded enrollment. Ten percent of the enrollment slots must be filled with children with disabilities. Families receiving SSI and public assistance are automatically eligible, as are foster children and homeless families. All interested families are encouraged to apply regardless o
