Head Start is the premier pre-k provider in the nation. Through the use of evidenced-based curricula and best practices, Head Start addresses the cognitive, social, emotional, and physical well-being of each child in the program. Not only does Head Start address the needs of the child, but the needs of the entire family are very important to Head Start. RCCAA Head Start uses Creative Curriculum in the classroom to spark curiosity and promote learning. Our Family Services department works with the family to address any areas of interest to parents or guardians. Head Start addresses health, mental health, and the nutritional needs of the child throughout the program. Head Start provides transportation to and from each center for the convenience of the family. Raleigh County Community Action Association (RCCAA) Head Start offers comprehensive services to eligible 3, 4, and 5 year old children at 8 sites throughout Raleigh County.
