How to Enroll in Champlain Valley Head Start or Early Head Start If you are a parent of a child (birth to age five), or a pregnant woman, and you are interested in enrolling your child and family in Champlain Valley Head Start or Early Head Start, please follow these steps. Complete an application. Click the appropriate link below to download the appropriate CVHS application. Click here to enroll a child (birth to age five) Click here to enroll as a pregnant woman Gather the required income documentation. If you receive Reach Up, Child Care Financial Assistance, or Supplemental Security Income (SSI), please provide documentation of these benefits. If the child applying is a foster child, please provide DCF documentation or court orders documenting the child’s status as a foster child. Head Start and Early Head Start are federally-funded, national child and family development programs which provide comprehensive services for pregnant women, children from birth to age five, and their families. Services for children promote school readiness, and include early education, health, nutrition, mental health, and services for children with special needs. Services for parents promote family engagement, and include parent leadership and social service supports. Champlain Valley Head Start offers center-based and home-based services to eligible families in various locations throughout Franklin, Grand Isle, Chittenden and Addison Counties.
