Franklin-Vance-Warren Opportunity, Inc., Head Start is a federally-funded child development program designed to prepare economically disadvantaged children for kindergarten. We also link families with services that will promote child and family success and lead to self-sufficiency. Counties served are: Franklin, Vance, Warren and Granville Counties. Services are provided for families who meet income guidelines. No fees are charged.
Who is Eligible?
Children who are 3 to 5 years old are eligible for Head Start services. Pregnant women and
children from birth to 3 years of age are eligible for Early Head Start services. Children and
families who are homeless, in foster care, or receive TANF or SSI are also eligible for
services. Eligibility is determined by Head Start program staff and some families may be
eligible for services if they are determined to be at or below the federal poverty level. Some
grantees enroll a percentage of children from families with incomes above the Poverty Guidelines
as well.
Families are encouraged to apply.
How to Apply
Franklin-Vance-Warren Opportunity, Inc., Head Start is accepting applications for enrollment in Franklin, Vance, Warren, and Granville counties for the 2009-2010 Program Year.If you have a child age 3 by August 31, 2009, and would like the apply for the upcoming program year, now is the time to do so. Parents of children with special needs are encouraged to apply.
