Who is Eligible?

Children who are 3 to 5 years old are eligible for Head Start services. Pregnant women and children from birth to 3 years of age are eligible for Early Head Start services. Children and families who are homeless, in foster care, or receive TANF or SSI are also eligible for services. Eligibility is determined by Head Start program staff and some families may be eligible for services if they are determined to be at or below the federal poverty level. Some grantees enroll a percentage of children from families with incomes above the Poverty Guidelines as well.

How to Apply
Preschool Registration March 17th- 9:00 AM to 12:00PM March 19th-23rd- 9:00 AM to 2:00PM Preschool is for children who will be three (3) or four (4) years old on or before September 1, 2012 . Documents needed to register for Preschool (Head Start or Pre-K) ¨ Birth Certificate ¨ Immunization Certificate (Form 3231) ¨ Social Security Card ¨ Proof of Income (example: 4 Pay Stubs 2011 Tax Return or proof of TANF) ¨ Insurance, Medicaid, or Peach Care Card ¨ Proof of Residency (Lease, mortgage or utility bill) ** Please do not bring Telephone Bills** (Please note that the three year old program is Head Start only and is based on the family meeting certain requirements) *A complete program is available for children with learning problems and disabilities*
